Copyright complaints

If something published here infringes copyright you hold, tell us and we will look at it. This is also the route for a notice under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, since the site is hosted in the United States.

Sending a notice

Write to hello@everbranch.ink with:

• A link to the page in question.
• A description of the work you say it infringes, and where your own copy can be seen.
• Your name, address and a way to contact you.
• A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law.
• A statement that the information you have given is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act for them.
• Your signature, electronic or otherwise.

Complete notices are usually acted on within a few days. Content removed on a copyright complaint returns a “taken down” page rather than vanishing, so anybody holding a link knows what happened.

If your work was removed in error

Write to the same address saying which page was removed, why you believe the complaint was mistaken or the use was permitted, and how to contact you. If the complaint does not hold up, the content goes back. Deliberately false claims in either direction are taken seriously, and repeated infringement costs an account.

About generated text

Branches here are written by a language model from a premise a person typed. That does not exempt anything from copyright. If a branch reproduces someone else’s work, it comes down the same as anything else, and passing off another person’s writing as your own premise breaks the terms.
